FAQ: Live Drawing Edition

I attended my first dog show ever last week, and on my way in one day I was thinking how interesting it is that I get asked different questions when people see me drawing live than they do when they see me drawing online. So I thought, why not make a video so I can bring y’all with me?

Question #1 is nearly always: “How long does it take you to do that?!” And Question #2: “How much does it cost?!”

At this event I learned a ton about how dog shows work, how much hard work goes into showing dogs, and a little bit about professional grooming. There’s so much more to it than I knew!

My booth neighbor used to be a professional groomer and has now designed her own handheld drying/grooming brush. It was really cool to watch her work with this tool during the show, and if you do your own grooming at home, you should check it out! Her website is: https://www.slick-air.com/

Louise and Stella

Louise and Stella

“My coworker’s Louise passed away earlier this year, and she ended up adopting Stella afterwards. Louise was a cuddly cat that loved to spend time with her family and was very relaxed, whereas Stella is a bit more of a firecracker. Stella likes to go romping through the backyard and is captivated by the rain.”

Betsy received this portrait of Louise and Stella as a gift from a coworker earlier this year, and it meant so much to be part of honoring both of these sweet (and very different!) personalities. She later entered my giveaway, and this is the review she shared:

“Friends had Reebok draw two of my cats and I love the drawing so much that I’m working with her on another sketch. Reebok does a great job of capturing not only the appearance but the personality of the animal. Reebok a very talented artist and she is wonderful to work with!”
