I will need one main reference photo, and if possible, extra photos to help with lighting and detail.

How to Pick a Great Photo

Here are some tips to help you pick (or take) great reference photos!

1) Natural Lighting. Outdoor photos are often best. Avoid dimly lit or flash photos.

2) Face-On. Most clients prefer a full-on view of their pet. Pro tip: make sure both eyes are showing!

3) Get down on their level. Take photos at your pet’s eye level, not looking down at them.

4) Get close. Fill the camera frame. Photos taken from far away often don’t have sharp enough resolution.

5) Be patient! Snapping or finding the perfect photo of your pet takes time!

Finally, I realize that in some cases, such as memorial portraits, you may have access to a limited number of photos. If you have any questions regarding the quality of your photos, don’t hesitate to ask me by filling out my Contact form! I’m happy to give feedback on your photos and make portrait recommendations.

2) Place your order and tell me a little bit about them

3) I’ll draw and ship your custom portrait to your door!

Placing an order online starts at the item listing page, and it’s easy to do! I guide you each step of the way.

I also invite you to share your pet’s story with me. I want to hear all of those little things that make your pet unique, because the little details are the things that make a sweet, lasting memory of your pet!

Please send a photo of your dog in the pose you’d like drawn, plus a few extras if you have them! You can email or text me—my contact info is on your receipt. If I don’t hear from you within a day, I’ll follow up.

After you Place your Order

After you place your order, I will review it and add you to my current schedule. There is an area on the form where you can write any questions or requests for me! I will read your entire form and if I have any questions for you, or if you asked me anything on your form, I’ll reach out!

I love getting your Portrait to you asap, but my turnaround depends in how many orders I have at any given time. If you’d like to know my current turnaround time when you place your order just ask! I accommodate rush order requests as I’m able.

Christmas Orders: I recommend placing Christmas orders by October. Once my schedule is full for Christmas, I will start taking orders for January delivery.
